Opponents have double- and triple-teamed Donahue but still haven’t found a way to neutralize the Solons veteran during the first two weeks of the season. She recorded 20 points, four rebounds and three steals in a loss to Harwood before returning to the court and pouring in 28 points during a 60-19 victory over Stowe. Donahue was sharp again during last weekend’s Winter Solstice Tournament action against Spaulding at the Barre Auditorium. She helped the Solons keep pace with the Tide for most of the matchup and finished with 26 points during a 48-35 setback. Donahue opened the season with a 20-point, eight-rebound effort against Middlebury, leading the Solons to a 40-30 victory. Donahue’s early scoring outburst has served as a crucial boost for a program that hasn’t won a playoff game since 2012 and is seeking its first winning season in a decade.
