The Vermont Community Broadband Board has approved CVFiber’s application for $12.3 million in grant funds for construction of its high-speed fiber network. Previous board approval of $6 million for purchasing materials, brings the total to $18.3 million for the first phase of construction.

CVFiber serves 21 communities in central Vermont. CVFiber is working with utility pole owners WEC, Green Mountain Power and Hardwick Electric, to prepare for construction of 100+ miles this fall. Completion of the initial 400 miles should come by the late summer of 2023.
