Margaret M. Rollins NORTHFIELD FALLS — Margaret M. Rollins (Meiggs) “Maggie”, 79, of Northfield Falls, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 15, 2023, at Barre Gardens Nursing Home in Barre, Vermont. Maggie was born in Cannan, VT on March 13, 1944, to Clarence and Vera (Camber) Meiggs. She attended school in Woodbury, VT. On June 30, 1979, Maggie married Chester Rollins in Moretown, Vermont. They resided on Center Road in Middlesex, VT for 29 years. Maggie worked at the Nantanna Woolen Mill before being employed at Sprague Electric. Later in life, she took great pride and joy in maintaining and caring for the Middlesex Center Cemetery for more than two decades. Maggie was passionate about crocheting doilies and sharing her creations with family and friends. She enjoyed watching NASCAR races with her two cats Sparky and Asher beside her in her recliner. Maggie was always happiest riding on her tractor “Betsy”, whether mowing in the cemetery or in the field. She always looked forward to family gatherings where she was always making people laugh with her spunky sense of humor. Maggie is survived by her five children; Penny Day and husband Brian of Northfield, VT, Rose Wheeler and companion Larry Barclay of Roxbury VT, Sandra Fraser and husband John of Woodsville NH, Edward Wheeler and wife Robin of Northfield, VT, Karen Trombly and wife Allison of Northfield, VT; 8 grandchildren, Nikki Hebert, Josh Barclay, Margaret Day, Courtney Thompson, Dylan Wheeler, Bailey Maloney, Stephanie Cooke, Tucker Trombly; 9 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, 8 siblings, husband Chet and 2 grandchildren Colby Cooke and Pamela Wheeler. At her request there will be no funeral or calling hours. A graveside service at the Middlesex Center Cemetery will be at a later date. Donations can be made in her memory to Barre Gardens Nursing Home, 378 Prospect St, Barre VT 05641.
