Alice L. King PLAINFIELD — Alice Lucy King (Picard), 80 of Plainfield, VT passed away at her home on December 9th, 2023. Born on April 17th, 1943, in Barre, VT she was the daughter of the late Joseph Picard Sr. and Marie (Senecal) Picard. She grew up and attended school in Middlesex, VT. She was married on June 26th, 1965, to the love of her life, James Henry King Sr. for 53+ amazing years. Here jobs included Textile Worker (Maden Mills of Barre), Kitchen Staff (Camp Meade Restaurant of Middlesex), and Production Worker (VT Plastics of Montpelier). Many of her years were spent as a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother raising her children and helping to raise grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with family, playing bingo, scratching lottery tickets, tending to her chickens and going out to eat at the Wayside Restaurant. She was predeceased by her husband, mother, father and 3 sisters: Jeannette Gray; Margaret Barclay and Marie Picard. She is survived by 5 Sons: James H. King Jr. of Middlesex, VT; John A. King and his wife Tanya of Middlesex, VT; Joseph A. King and his wife Debbie of Williamstown, VT; Adrian L. King Sr. of Plainfield, VT; Adam L. King and his wife Elizabeth of Plainfield, VT; 15 Grandchildren: Ayden King; Anthony Engelhard; Cassandra Engelhard; Meagan Hakey and her husband Owen; Branden King; Michael King; Sebastian King; Richelle King; Amaya King; Adrian (A.J.) King Jr and his wife Ella; Natasha King; Collin King; Carson King; Jordon Lewis van Dyke and his wife Margaret; Lucas West and his wife Meagan; and 9 Great Grandchildren; Jesse McAllister; Lilly Hakey; Jordyn Herron; Emonie King; Sophia King; Henry Lamoureux; Bennett Milot; Savannah West; Austin West. She is also survived by 2 sisters and 5 brothers: Irene Weston and her husband Winston Weston Sr. of Middlesex, VT; Theresa Beard of Brookfield, VT; Joseph Picard Jr.; John Picard and his wife Megan; James Picard and his wife June; Emile Picard and his wife Tammy; Dick Picard and his wife Charlene, all of Middlesex, VT and many nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Heidi Erdos-King (former daughter-in-law) for your love and support while helping to provide care for Alice over the last few months. A gathering of family and friends to celebrate her life will be held beginning at 1:00 PM on Sunday January 14th, 2023, at the American Legion Post 10 in Barre, VT.
