Marie Brooks WEST TOPSHAM — Marie Brooks, 85 passed away at her home in West Topsham on December 29, 2023. Born September 7, 1938, to Kenneth and Pearl Appleton, the eldest of 6 children. Marie was a loving person always caring for others, this started at an early age caring for her younger siblings, then husband, children, and grandchildren. She graduated from Bradford Academy class of 1957. On June 27,1959 she married Peter Brooks and made their home in West Topsham. After her children were raised, she went to work at Whimsicality and went on to retire from Brookside Nursing home. Marie enjoyed watching the Red Sox and NASCAR, but her biggest joy was spending time with family, especially making everyone Sunday dinner. She is survived by her son Kenneth, daughter Annette Neddo (Christopher); grandchildren Carissa Morton (Eric) and Andrew Neddo (Samantha); great grandchildren Kennedy and Aiden Morton; brothers Kenneth Appleton and Jerald (Ginny) Appleton; sisters-in-law Joyce Appleton and Carol Appleton; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, husband; brothers William and James; and sister Lillian. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in her name may be made to the charity or non-profit of your choice. Calling hours will be between 5-7pm on Saturday January 13th at Pruneau Polli, 58 Summer St, Barre, VT. Arrangements are in the care of Pruneau-Polli Funeral Home.
