Peter M. Tomasi BARRE — In the early morning of April 21, 2023, Peter Michael Tomasi passed away. He had struggled with multiple medical conditions. He was born on July 13, 1995, the 5th child of Dr. Ernest & Barbara (Rogers) Tomasi, who preceded him in death. Peter attended St Michael's & Montpelier schools & Castleton State College. He met and married Barbara Clark (mother of his first son). They later divorced. In later years, he married Donna Massey, with whom he raised three more sons. Donna preceded him in death on July 6, 2022. Peter worked for over 22 years as a Correctional Officer at Chittenden Regional Correctional Facility. A colleague shared with us that Peter was liked and respected, not only by fellow staff & administration, but by those incarcerated. He enjoyed life, especially visiting with his grandchildren, caring for his dogs, watching baseball and fishing at the family camp. He loved being "Mr Fix-It". Taking things apart and repairing them, brought him great pleasure. He is survived by his four sons: Michael H. Hersey; Michael Nagle (Amanda); Phillip Tomasi (Ashley); & Ryan Tomasi, as well as his grandchildren: Mason, Kalab, Madison, Owen, Arabelle, Wyatt, Kayden & Liam. He is also survived by his sisters: Linda (Tom) Babic; & Barbara (Bill) Tomasi-Gay & brothers Ernest Tomasi & Tim (Vivian Ladd) Tomasio & brother-in-laws Brian, Timothy and Michael Massey & many nieces & nephews. Peter's family wants to thank the many CVMC ICU staff members who cared for him and patiently supplied him with his many popsicle requests. We also extend heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the wonderful caregivers @ Barre Gardens who showed Peter care and love. They made him feel very special. In his memory, please consider donating to Elevate Youth Services 652 Granger Rd, Suite 2, Barre, VT 05641.
